Giving and Gift Aid

The offerings made by parishioners are the main source of the income which sustains our parish’s mission. We are very grateful for the generous support offered to us by our parishioners.

Everyone who worships here regularly, and who pays income tax, is invited to sign a Gift Aid Declaration (GAD) in our favour. This allows us to reclaim the tax which has been paid on your offering. Currently, this amounts to an additional 25 per cent. There is no extra cost to yourself. The GAD is also available from the stewards at mass and from the parish organiser.

In order for us to make a claim we need to have a record of your offerings, which can be checked and audited. There are three main ways in which this can be done.

1. Numbered Envelopes. We provide sets of envelopes, for each tax year, one for each Sunday, with your individual number.

2. Standing Order. The GAD form also includes a Standing Order Mandate. Most parishioners give “monthly”, “until further notice”, on a fixed day of the month (preferably between the 2nd and the 28th).

Our bank details are as follows:
Bank: HSBC Sheffield City
Sort code: 40-41-07
Account name: Diocese of Hallam St Francis Sheffield
Account number: 21094343

If you are confident with online banking, it is possible to set up the standing order payment directly with your bank, using these account details. We welcome this, as it cuts out the uncertainties of paper transmission, but please let us know that you have done so.

3. Personal Cheque. These, and standing orders, may be drawn on an individual or a joint account, but please note that the GAD must be completed by an individual and not a couple.

The Gift Aid scheme for our parish is administered by Edmund King who welcomes enquires about the scheme, which are held in confidence.
